Memorial service processions dedicated to the holy city of Najaf in Saturday from the capital's Sadr City neighborhood, where the deadliest of the attacks took place the day before.


No one has claimed blame for the attacks, but Nouri al-Maliki, Iraq's prime minister appeared to blame group of al-Qaida in Iraq organization.


"The gutless terrorist attacks that took place today was future to cover the huge success of security forces by killing the leaders of evil and terrorism, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and Abu Ayyub al-Masri," he said in a declaration late Friday.

Al-Maliki announced the 19 April that security forces had killed the two men, an alleged leader of al-Qaida in Iraq and another the Islamic State in Iraq in a raid north of Baghdad.
