10 Reasons Why RIM Beats Google, Apple At The Mobile Game

10 Reasons Why RIM Beats Google, Apple At The Mobile Game

10 Reasons Why RIM Beats Google, Apple at the Mobile Game

1. It is expected

According to NPD's first quarter market share numbers are RIM is far ahead of both Apple and Google in the market for smartphones. The research company found that RIM currently controls around 36 percent of the smartphone space. Compare this with Google's 28 percent and Apple's 21 percent, and it quickly becomes clear that BlackBerry-maker does not really have much to worry about right now. Yes, Apple and Google get attention, but for now, RIM is the market share. And that's all that matters.

2nd Remember it

With Apple in a market, it is easy for critics to focus their attention on consumers and forget about the consequences it has. It is a mistake. As Microsoft has proven over the years, the company can become a company's best friend. RIM has learned that lesson. Smart phone manufacturer has targeted the industry for years and have almost independently contributed to the success today.

3rd BlackBerry is a great unit

It is easy to forget the BlackBerry. Software RIM devices running not as flashy as the iPhone OS and Android. BlackBerry devices, usually offer a physical keyboard, and the same ball which some see as outdated. And RIM does not have the appeal, Google or Apple. But it should matter. Almost all BlackBerry smartphone is a great product that provides a unique e-mail program and much praised call capabilities. It deserves to share the spotlight with their competitors.

4th iPhone Google cannibalism

In the future, help the fight between the iPhone and Android OS RIM. The problem with two other mobile operating systems that compete in the same market is that the tiles in place. Some consumers will choose the iPhone because it's made by Apple, and offers more apps than any other platform. Other consumers can choose Android OS because it is available at several companies that offer similar functionality to the iPhone OS. In the process. RIM again as the only company that offers an alternative for those who want the latest generation of smartphones, a battle between Google and Apple may not be the worst for RIM.
(Mospagebreak title = RIM still Darling of Enterprise)

5th BlackBerry Enterprise Server

BlackBerry Enterprise Server is perhaps the biggest reason that RIM has been able to attract (and keep) business customers. The service is regarded as the best in its class, delivering the kind of productivity and functionality that no other mobile operating system on the market can muster. Given that so many companies are so invested in BES, RIM has made it difficult for them to change anytime soon.

Six It is Windows again

There is something quite interesting about the device that most companies seem to forget: it hates change. As much as Steve Jobs, the companies will see Mac OS X as a more capable alternative to Windows, they are indifferent. They are already productive with Windows. The same can be said of RIM. More often than not, companies simply sticking to the technology they feel comfortable with. It makes sense. Switch software or hardware can reduce productivity. It can also wreak havoc on your company's bottom line. Activities are usually afraid to try something new, especially when the product the user is working so well. It should help strengthen RIM's market share going forward.

7th Not everyone likes touch screens

It is easy to get caught in the lure of touch screens. Yes, they are nice and they do something that is totally unique in the mobile market. But not everyone thinks that they are all that is necessary. For many, the iPhone's virtual keyboard many considered the best of its kind in the mobile, still can not match a physical keyboard. And although it is nice to "pull" around the one hand, a trackball is not half bad either. If the market share figures are indications that touch screens are just not for everyone. And RIM reaps the benefits of it.

Eight Omnipresence is key

A key problem with iPhone is that it is only available to AT & T customers. Some have said that it is not so much by way of telephone, they are able to use, but it can not be true. RIM has shown time and again that the most coveted phone will not always win the day. Enterprise customers and consumers are still buying BlackBerry smartphones because they are available on your favorite companies. It is important not to underestimate the airline preference.

9th Apps is not everything

There is no debate about that Apple offers the best selection of mobile applications of all entrants. Unfortunately for RIM, delivers once a relatively small range of programs for the most part, are not sufficient in comparison to those found on the iPhone. But it can not be as important as some people think. The natives found on the BlackBerry is excellent. They help keep employees productive. And for the average company, it means everything.

10th It does not try to do too much

RIM should be commended for not trying to do too much with his platform. Although it made a bad decision by trying to deliver an iPhone competitor with the Storm, RIM has mostly stuck with what is best with its bold and Tour smartphones. RIM must stay the course. It will never be able to match the iPhone specs and Google is too powerful that the best Android OS.BlackBerry OS is fine as is. RIM will continue to remember it.
