Celebrate World Laughter Day in India

World Laughter Day

World Laughter Day was shaped in 1998 by Dr. Madan Katari, the creator of the universal Laughter Yoga group. The merriment of World Laughter Day are a positive sign for world peace and seek to build a global awareness of brotherhood and awareness through laughter. Its popularity has grown exponentially with the Laughter Yoga movement now counts over 6000 Laughter Clubs in over 65 countries.

The first World Laughter Day gathering took place in Mumbai, India in 1998. Twelve thousand members of local and international laughter clubs together in a mega laughter sitting. "HAPPY pandemic" was the first World Laughter Day meeting outside India. It took place in 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark, where more than 10,000 people gather at City Hall. It was the largest ever assembly to laugh and bound together, and the event went into the Guinness Book of World Records.
