Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has pressed actor-politician Jaya Bachchan for another term in the Rajya Sabha, a contentious move that is likely to lead to estrange their once close adviser Amar Singh.
Announcement of Bachchan was chosen was made Wednesday by the Mulayam Singh's son and Uttar Pradesh Chief SP Akhilesh Yadav. SP has also been chosen Rasheed Masood of the house.
'The Samajwadi Party's parliamentary board had finalized the name Jaya Bachchan and Rasheed Masood of the Rajya Sabha scheduled time, "Akhilesh Yadav said in a statement here.
Bachchan is wedded mega star Amitabh Bachchan, who is close to the preceding SP leader Amar Singh is well recognized. Amar Singh has often affirmed that the Bachchans are like family members for him, Jaya Bachchan had also support him in the days before he finally left the SP before rift himself later.
Amar Singh had said: "Jaya Bachchan is free to decide the way she likes, even if she still like family to me."
