Madan Tamang Murder: Darjeeling Tense
Five days after the brutal murder of Nepal League President Madan Tamang Darjeeling still tense, with Nepal Janmukti Morch leader Bimal Gurung back to the hill town with a convoy of supporters defied the ban orders.

Since Friday, when Tamang was killed had Gurung and other top executives in Morch lived in Kalim Pong and had not come to Darjeeling fearing protests.

Over one thousand supporters of Nepal's Janmukti Morch GJM in tow, defying Bimal Gurung § 144 and ignored the protesters to march in Darjeeling today and denied any role in Tamang murder. A case has been filed against him for allegedly plotting to kill Tamang.

"Bimal Gurung and GJM not kill Tamang, the CPRM and state authorities have done," said Bimal Gurung, GJM chief.

Just yesterday, the funeral cortege Madan Tamang, Darjeeling residents protested against Nepal Janmukti Morch and tore down party flags and posters. A case filed against six activists for murder Tamang Morch.

"You know there is a saying once bit twice shy. The water rose above sea level. People have had it. People have had enough," said Sonam Bhutia, Darjeeling residents.

Gurung wants arrest of those who tore his party flag, and has warned agitation if Morch leaders are arrested for murder Tamang. Two CRPF companies are on their way to Darjeeling to ensure peace.
