Maoist attack in Bijapur; 8 jawans dead

Barely a month after the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lost 75 of its jawans in Dantewada butchery, the Maoist broke again in Chhattisgarh killed eight para military workers on Saturday.

The occurrence happened Tandawa Bazaar area of the district when the BMP workers along with the quarter Armed Police Force was meant patrolling the area.

Six Maoists, armed with complicated weapons, fired erratically at them, "said SP Sanjay Kumar Singh.

Four BMP jawans were killed on the spot and another was gravely injured, he said.
The ultras also stole five guns and more than a few rounds of missiles from them before he fled, said the SP.

The entry and exit points in the region were sealed and combing operation launched to the Maoists, he said.
