Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C16) today. PSLV-C16 launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota, India.
About PSLV – C16:

PSLV-CI6 is the 18th flight of ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV
PSLV is 44 meter high weighing 294,000 kgs.
In this flight, the standard version of PSLV with six solid strap-on motors is used.
It can carry payload of 1600 kg to Sun-Synchronous orbit.
PSLV has 4 stages and uses Solid Fuel namely Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)
PSLV-CI6 will place 03 satellites with a total payload mass of 1404 kg –
RESOURCESAT-2 weighing 1206 kg,The Indo-Russian YOUTHSAT weighing 92 kg and Singapore’s X-SAT weighing 106 kg – into an 822 km polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO)

Other remote sensing satellites scheduled for launch this year by ISRO are Megha-Tropiques, Radar Imaging Satellite-1 (RISAT-1) and Saral.
