Utkal University website 'hacked'
Bhubaneswar: In a suspected cyber security breach was the official website of the Utkal University (www.utkal-univeristy.org) cracked on Wednesday. But the attacker does not destroy or damage the site had not reported the theft of information.
Rector of the University PK Sahu said: "We need to explore and investigate the problem and figure out how the breach occurred." The site was restored by evening, Sahu said.
The Utkal University website is designed and maintained by a Delhi-based private software company, AllIndia Online. Debenra Nayak of the company, but denied the possibility of hacking and said that due to virus attack. Homepage of the site was damaged when words - hacked by Jerusium - was found written in big letters.
"At a time when the admission process is on, breaking the site is not a good sign at all. Although the site does not carry confidential information, they should be careful with any breaches of cyber security in the future," said Nabakishore Das , a student.
