After overcoming multiple hurdles in finding the perfect actress for his upcoming remake of yesteryear's successful film, Satte Pe Satta, Soham Shah finds himself, once again, back to square one.
Having previously offered the role to two actresses, both of whom rejected the project, Shah finally settled on Vidya Balan to enact the iconic part that Hema Malini played in the original film. Originally directed by Raj Sippy in 1982. The original movie was applauded by the audience featured Hema Malini as the female lead.
Earlier the first name considered or the heroine of was Vidya Balan who was also the first preference of Soham to play Hema’s character in the flick but she refused the role and then it was offered to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who in turn delayed to give an answer.
Reluctant to wait any further, the producers Asthavinayak decided to approach Madhuri Dixit and sources said that she demanded outrageous fee. Moreover, it was said that Sanjay was also not keen to act with Madhuri. Now finally the news is coming from the sources that the makers of the movie are again considering the name of Vidya Balan to play Hema in the movie.
As Soham feels that in the film according to the character’s requirement they need an Indian face for the role and hence Vidya seems to be apt choice. Earlier the reason given by Vidya for not doing the movie was that she feels that “Satte Pe Satta” should not be tampered with. That film is too iconic to be copied or revised.
In the movie Sanjay Dutt will essay the role that Amitabh Bachchan played in the original film which released in 1982.
Now when the Vidya is busy till January next year so now let’s see what’s next the makers are considering.
