Dismiss Raja, says Jayalalitha

AIADMK Supremo Jayalalithaa days demanded dismissal of Union IT and Telecom Minister A Raja over an alleged multi-crore 2G spectrum telephone fraud.

In a declaration here, she says CBI official, Vineet Agarwal, who had investigated the matter, but was transferred later to be brought back to continue the probe.

CBI investigation of the spectrum fraud was required for "a serious condemnation" of the Central Inspection Commission, Jayalalithaa said.

Comptroller and examiner General had in his report also finished that the lack of procedures Raja in the sale of 2G spectrum had caused losses of at least Rs 26,000 crore to the administration, she said.

The Delhi High Court, inquiry a case concerning the sale of 2G band had experimental first-cum-first "principle adopted by the Raja was akin to" the sale of cinema tickets, "she said.

Raja had candidly flouted Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's on paper instructions to take the PM's clearance before embarking on the sale of 2G spectrum, she claimed.

Congress chose to give up Shashi Tharoor in IPL argument, it was a private matter, but when it came to the Raja, who had been accused of causing huge loss to the administration, he was allowed to carry on, " Jayalalithaa added.
