13-year-old becomes youngest to top Mount Everest

A 13-year-old American has become the youngest climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

A spokesman for Jordan Romero tells teens made call him by satellite phone from the top of the world's highest stack, 8850 meters above sea level.

`` He said, "Mom, I'm calling you from the top of the world,'''Leigh Anne Drake told The linked Press from California, where she had seen her son's development on a GPS tracker online.
