At least 30 people, counting 10 children, were killed and 28 others offended when a Bangalore-bound bus in which they drove wrong way up and caught fire near Challanakeri area in the region today.
The bus hit a blockade and capsized, police said adding, its fuel tank caught fire. The incident happened around 2:15.
The driver was in the middle of those killed.
Twenty-five of the wounded have been hospitalized Challanakeri and three were taken to a government hospital here.
The Government has announce a compensation of Rs one lakh each to the relatives of the dead.
