Cannes 2010 | Brave Joely Richardson dazzles in thigh-splitting red dress
Over the past 14 months her family has been shaken by a tragedy after one more.
But regardless of his raw grief Joely Richardson braved the red mat for a charity ball for AIDS investigate.
The 45-year-old star has lost her younger sister Natasha last May in a skiing mishap.
Over the past two months, his uncle and aunt Lynn Corin both died after fighting growth.
This was one of her first public look after their death, and she wore a bold red thigh-splitting Valentino dress for the juncture.
But the close, the stress of recent months could be seen carved into the face in the form of a deeper line beneath the eyes.
Miss Richardson deceased sister was a great supporter of AIDS research and a generous fund recognized in her name.
She said in amFar generous gala, "its such a good cause. This is very significant."
The festival may be the most important event in the French social almanac.
But it was a very British affair at the annual sale to raise money for AIDS research at the Cannes Film fair.
All Miss Richardson, Sir Mick Jagger, Naomi Campbell, Gerard Butler, Kate Beckinsale, Kristen Scott Thomas and Emily Blunt arrived at the exclusive Hotel du Cap for dinner and benefit.
They were joined by a list of stars Jennifer Lopez, Mischa Barton, Paris Hilton, Russell Crowe, Diane Krueger and Giorgio Armani at the party that tries to raise money for AIDS research.
Hollywood star Kirsten Dunst joined a march of police to defend her.
Sir Mick, who is in Cannes to endorse his movie gravel in exile from their time in France in the 1970s, educators, had with his tuxedo on the red runner.
