Molester DGP gets 18 months in jail

Tainted former police chief Haryana SPS Rathore was filed Tuesday in Burail prison here after the region and session court upheld his confidence in the assault case Ruchika Girhotra and gave him an greater than before jail for 18 months.

Said order, several district and sessions Judge Gurbir Singh said: "The Appeal filed by Rathore demanding his conviction is dismiss and the grievance made by CBI and complaints seeking extra equipment is permitted .... He could be taken into custody and sent to prison Burail.

Rathore, who was stripped of his President's Police Medal, had filed a complaint against a special CBI court on 12.21.2009 judge him mistreat Ruchika in August 1990.

The six-month prison verdict handed down to Rathore had triggered a public protest and led to a public campaign Ruchika family and friends who want justice for her. Rathore notorious image - coming out of the courtroom in December with a big smile on his face - was a symbol of fairness denied to the movement.

CBI and complaint, Anand Prakash, to Girhotras' family friend went divide appeal seeking improvement of Rathore's statement. Ruchika's father SC Girhotra said that though he was pleased with Tuesday's ruling, he would carry on fighting "to get Rathore prison for helping his daughter's suicide."
