Nissan Micra Production Starts In India

Global compact car that Japanese maker Nissan in 2010 Geneva Motor Show goes into making in the Renault-Nissan Alliance plant Oragadam, Chennai this week, with start of sales in July.

Earlier in March, opened the Franco-Japanese auto alliance Rnault-Nissan factory in Oragadam near Chennai, where the two partners will jointly invest Rs 4,500 crore to produce four lakh units in 2015.

The company will begin to display "Micra" from Tuesday in showroom across the country. The orders will also start at the same time from an first amount of Rs 50,000.

To increase sales, the corporation will aggressively market the car, and it will be support by a "complete print, digital, radio and TV campaign soon.

Renault-Nissan has made an initial asset of Rs 2900 crore for the manufacture of 200,000 units per year, which can be scaled up to 400,000 units. It plans to produce around 80,000 unit the first year.

Up against Maruti's Swift, Hyundai i20 is the I10 and the Micra comes with a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, and will have 85 per cent placement of mechanism. The car was intended in the new "V" platform.

The Chennai plant at present employs 1900 people are expected to go up to 3,000 workers over the next two years.

The new Micra will be shaped in five nation - Thailand, India, China and Mexico. The fifth place is yet to be strong-minded.
