Oppose ban on burqa: Deoband to Islamic nations
A senior seminar Monday, May 3, appealed to Islamic countries to remove the ban on Islamic veils in European countries that infringe their religious autonomy of members.
"It is unlucky that Islamic countries have opposite the legislation, which European countries to curb Muslim women wear veils, which are an integral part of our belief," deputy rector Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Abdul Khalique Madrasi.
He urged Muslim countries to oppose the ban and press European countries to abolish the ban.
"The action is inequitable and against secularism. Some anti-Islamic forces attempt to curb the spiritual freedoms of Muslims in these countries, he argued.
Deoband Appeals also found hold up from the Imam Organisation of Uttar Pradesh.
President of the association, Mufti Zulfikar Ali has slammed the ban call it as a constraint of religious freedom.
"It goes next to freedom of our religion and we fully support the view of Deoband in this regard, he said.
Earlier on Thursday, April 29 Belgium has the House of assembly adopted a lawmaking assembly, which ban the Islamic veil in publci places. The law is expected to take result from July 2010th
Denmark's center-right government also called the ban "burqa" and "niqab" that violates the Danish principles.
In the meantime, says French President Nicholas Sarkozy that the burqa is not preferential in France and ask Bill ban burqa in public chairs.
