RJD criticises Nitish Kumar govt of neglecting poor | The Economic Times
RJD Friday accuse the Nitish Kumar administration to pay "lip service" to the poor without showing attention in their welfare.
"Nitish Kumar government pays lip service to the poor, and it is not not at all interested in their welfare," RJD president and MP Raghuvansh Prasad Singh said.
He argued that the state administration has failed to list nearly 10 lakh units under the Indira Awas Yojana (IAY), although the Centre owed funds for it.
"Not a single victim, when the house were gutted in the summer have been allocated houses under IAY for the law makes it compulsory to arrange instantaneous shelter for these victims," Singh charged.
Although minorities were not given their quota of IAY houses, "said Singh.
He said at the 10th Five-year plan Bihar had a goal to put up 16.64 lakh IAY devices which only 12.89 lakh units were build.
