SC notice to Haryana over Dalit attack | Times of india

The Supreme Court has sought reply from the Haryana administration reports that 152 Dalit families had fled Hissar region and the two of them had been killed by upper caste Jat system members.

Terming the event as very serious, a bench that Justice GS Singhvi and CK Prasad asked the region Commissioner to meet for myself with all the relevant details on the next date of trial.

Apex court passed the way on a PIL filed by some of the people, seeking action against the alleged perpetrators and the protection and treatment of the aggrieved families.

A 70-year-old man and his 18-year-old disabled daughter was killed and at least 18 houses were damaged, 21 April in an arson attack allegedly by members of the Jat community of Dalit families in Mirchpur village in Hisar around 300 km from state capital Chandigarh.

At least 20 families Valmiki group of people in Mirchpur village had allegedly fled after an arson attack on 21 April, when 15 houses were also injured.
