Will Ruchika get justice? Verdict on Rathore's plea today
Judgement on increasing the penalty for former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore in Ruchika abuse case expected on Tuesday.
This is base on complaints filed by former DGP confidence by a CBI court the country's Dec. 21 last year. It is still unclear whether his smile will be wipe out this time.
The arrange of the Court came after Rathore, former director of the police (U.S.) in Haryana, filed a prayer in January this year demanding his confidence last December of a Central Bureau of examination (CBI) special court here for molesting fifteen years old Ruchika August 12, 1990.
Rathore was sentence to six months in jail strict and fined Rs.1 000 of the CBI Special Court.He was, however, straight away granted security.
Ruchika SC Girhotra father, who was there in court Thursday, said he was let down that the verdict was late.
"We are not dissatisfied. It's just a matter of 4-5 days. Fairness will be done. Rathore will be punished. There is not anything wrong in the decision delay. Such thing happens in court. Perhaps the judge would have more time to write the ruling to be a long, "he said.
Anand Parkash, the major complainant in this case, said: "We expect that the least amount prison sentence of Rathore. He deserve no mercy from any quarter, and we have full faith in Indian judges."
Parkash Anand daughter Aradhana, who has now enthused to Australia was the only witness in this case.
CBI opposed Rathore prayer and had sought an upgrading in the statement of his from six months to a maximum of two years after his confidence.
CBI Special Court had found Rathore guilty last December of molest Ruchika, a up-and-coming tennis player in Panchkula town nearly two decades ago.
Ruchika committed suicide three years later in Panchkula city, adjacent Chandigarh, after she and her family's continuing harassment of Rathore, a heavy police in Haryana.
