2010 Summer Solstice was best viewed at Stonehenge in Europe therefore attracting millions of people. Solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice a year. It happens when the angle of the Earth’s axis leans more toward or away from the sun. This will cause the sun to shine either toward the northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere of our planet. This event will obviously bring severe effects on the seasons in different parts of our planet.
Solstice came from the Latin Word sol that means sun mixed with the Latin Word sitere meaning to stand still. Therefore, solstice means sun stand still.
