Afzal Guru's file goes to home ministry

Delhi Lt. Governor Tejendra Khanna have sent to the home ministry file on the assembly attack sentenced Afzal Guru's mercy petition, an official at the Raj Bhawan said Friday.

"The file is sent to the Interior Ministry," the official told IANS.

The Delhi administration had sent the file to view the Governor on 19 in May after giving clarifications sought by his office.

A occupant of Sopore in Kashmir valley, the Guru found guilty of preparation the 13.12.2001 the Parliament attack and sentence to death in 2002. The Delhi High Court long-established the death penalty in 2003.

The Supreme Court has upheld the death penalty. Guru's wife Tabassum filed a mercy petition to the chair on top court decision.

The president sought the home ministry's place on the mercy formally request in 2005.
