Big Ten accepts bid to join the Nebraska LINCOLN, Neb. – So long, Big 12. Member of Nebraska in the Big Ten Conference is official. The Big Ten council of Presidents and Chancellors Club acclaimed Nebraska on Friday, hours after the school officially unveiled its interests. The move takes effect July 1, 2011.
