A spokeswoman for ComEd says more than a quarter million Chicago-area customers were without electrical power because of the violent storm that slashed through the area Friday afternoon.
ComEd spokeswoman Krissy Posey says 283,300 customers were without electricity at 6:30 p.m. She says 106,000 of the outages were in the northern suburbs, 73,000 were in the city, and 58,000 were in the southern suburbs. Another 46,000 were in the western suburbs.
