Come to work in a brand new project was Janet Jackson, all smiles on the set of "For Colored Girls who have considered suicide when the Rainbow is enuf" filmed on location in New York City on Thursday.
Proudly flaunting her new short hairstyle, the 44-year-old was joined by director Tyler Perry and co-star Kimberly Elise for today's filming assignment.
As for the film, which stars Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington and Anika Noni Rose, a synopsis via IMDB says it is "a drama based on Ntozake Shang's about survival, from 20 nameless black women."
Aside from her film work, Miss Jackson is said to be on cloud nine with her new relationship with 35-year-old millionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana.
An insider close to Janet told inTouch magazine, "He seems to have given her a new life when her brother Michael died. He's younger than Janet, higher than Janet and far richer than Janet. He was her knight in shining armor. For the first time in Janet's life, she with a man who pays for everything. He is filthy rich. "
