LJP chief Paswan files nomination for RS
Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan and senior RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav Wednesday filed nominations for Rajya Sabha seats from Bihar.
Flanked by RJD president Lalu Prasad, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi and Frontline leaders of RJD, LJP alliance, which was presented Yadav and Paswan their candidacies in the June 17 election.
In a new-found bonhomie between the two parties proposed Rabri Devi Paswan candidacy and LJP state unit chief and brother Pashupati Nath Paswan suggested Paras Yadav candidacy.
With the two candidates (Yadav and Paswan) requires 41 votes each to secure the victory, the RJD-lJP alliance 14 votes less than required by the two parties' total strength is 68 (RJD-56, LJP-12).
Bihar sends five members to the Rajya Sabha.
