CHICAGO -- Derrek Lee did his best to redeem himself and the Cubs on Wednesday.
One day after committing two errors in one inning in a loss to Oakland, Lee hit a solo home run, scored another run and made a great defensive play to help the Cubs beat the Athletics, 6-2, in Interleague Play.
"The one saving grace about baseball is if you play a real poor game, you don't have to sit around all week and wait for another one -- they throw one at you the next day," Cubs manager Lou Piniella said. "It gives you a chance to redeem yourself and these guys really played well tonight."
