Reese Witherspoon Parties It Up with Sean Penn

Making for quite the enjoyable Independence Day, Reese Witherspoon headed out to the beach in Malibu, California on Sunday afternoon (July 4).

The "Legally Blonde" babe tended to her son Deacon as she chatted with fellow partygoers including Sean Penn and Tom Robbins, who busily surfed the Pacific during the coastline fete.

The fun-filled party weekend comes after a busy week of filming for Reese, as she's working alongside Robert Pattinson on a movie titled "Water for Elephants".

Due out in 2011, the Francis Lawrence directed film is about "a veterinary student abandoning his studies after his parents are killed and joins a traveling circus as their vet."
