Rajinikanth means much more than a cine star to his fans. He is a god for them. The south star immersed his fans in enormous grief over his ailment. Reportedly, the actor is undergoing treatment in Singapore.
But, even as Rajini gruels with ill health, the star manages to rake in crores. News has it that the southern icon has been paid Rs 24 crore as the first installment for his role in ‘Rana’.
A source said to a daily, "Rajini Sir is still India`s highest paid actor. Besides the reported 24 cr for ‘Rana`, the family will also have a stake in the IPR because Rajini`s second daughter Soundarya is a partner in the project."
Dhanush who is married to Rajini`s daughter Aishwarya has been the official spokesperson for the family over this issue. He is seen as the "son" of the superstar in Chennai.
He is the one who people have been looking up to in order to get updates on the filmstars health and well being.
