Cardiff Airport Shut By Volcanic Ash Cloud
The airport is among many across the UK and Ireland to be closed between 0700 BST and 1300 BST on Monday.

Other no-fly zone includes Bristol and Birmingham. Heathrow and Gatwick have reopened, but with many delays and cancellations expected.

Passengers advised to check with airlines before leaving home.

Tues flights at Cardiff Airport was listed as canceled on their website early in the morning, with others reporting delays.

Swansea airport has no scheduled flights have also been affected.

All flights in Northern Ireland and much of Scotland has been on the ground until 1300 BST.

Glasgow, Manchester and Stansted will remain open.

"Because we have been constantly monitoring the situation over the last couple weeks have been quite prepared.

"We had an understanding yesterday that it may be closed, but obviously there is an interruption of the employees.

"Several airlines have held open check-in the hope they will open this afternoon, but it is not an easy situation for anyone."

No aircraft will arrive at Gatwick until after 1300 BST.
