Conjoined twins ready for discharge after successful surgery



Former conjoined twins, Sita and Gita, who was away in Delhi's Batra Hospital earlier in April, is now ready to be sent habitat.


The twins were separated by a team of 27 doctors consisting of pediatric surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and intensive care specialists, 5 April in an operation that took over 14 hours.

"After the operation was twins in intensive care for a few days. They were later moved to branches. Nutritional, weight-wise, food-wise, they are going very well," said Dr Sanjeev Bagai, Managing Director of Batra Hospital and investigate Center.

The doctors at Batra Hosptial, together with a local hospital in Patna to keep track of the twins because they walked over there after being discharged from hospital.

"In the past it used to be so many problems to keep them. I'm excited now. It's easier to keep them now. Me and my husband have each of them," said Nirmala, a mother of twins.

The twins will be brought back to New Delhi later this year for a normal check-up.

Sita and Gita had common intestinal and urinary tract. Part of their pelvis, spines, legs and hipbones were also melt.

The occupation involved does their spinal cord, pelvis and genitalia, reproductive and urinary tract.

  1. That's really great news and I am happy that both child have been saved. I really feel why God used to play like this and joke with feelings of parents. But it's time to be happy that both has been survived.
