Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni got engaged to Sakshi Singh at a quiet ceremony in Dehradun on Saturday night. Sakshi singh is a Kolkata girl in her early 20s and studied at the famous Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. Currently she is studying hotel management in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.
28-year-old Dhoni, known as Captain Cool, chose a hill station for his engagement ceremony. The function took place at Bhagirathi Resorts at Selaqui, about 20 km from the hilltown.
Relatives of Dhoni and Sakshi arrived at before 6.30 pm in three buses to the ceremony place and rings were exchanged in their presence. Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra from Indian team were also present.
According to sources, Dhoni and Sakshi had been seeing each other for nearly two years and last year they even holidayed together in Dehradun and Mussoorie.
“Very pretty girl…She is like a little bird, chirpy and full of life” said Sakshi’s chemistry teacher at Welhams for her.
According to claims of sources, both of them knew each other since their early school days when they were in DAV Shamily in Ranchi.
Regarding marriage date family member said, “Not yet. But maybe after the Australian series at home.”
Aussie series will end up by October 24.
