Singh Dhoni got enganged with his girlfriend Sakshi Singh Rawat, which was held in Dehradun on Saturday, July 3rd. A family friend of MS Dhoni told the engagement details to the media. MS Dhoni’s engagement ceremony was held at hotel Bhagirath in Dehradun and only few close friends and family members were part of this ceremony. Among the cricketers present on the occasion were Harbhajan Singh and Ashish Nehra.
MS Dhoni and Sakshi Rawat were school friends in Ranchi and their fathers were colleagues in MECON before Rawats moved to Dehradun after retirement. The marriage date is not yet confirmed, it may be in October 2010 after the Australian series.
M.S.Dhoni was contracted by the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 Million USD. This made him the most expensive player in the IPL for the first season Auctions which was closely followed by Andrew Symonds. Dhoni is the present captain of the Chennai Super Kings team
