It will be the only week this year in which heavy hitters MasterChef Australia, Packed to the Rafters, Underbelly and Dancing with the Stars all screened -but it belonged to the Seven Network.
There were plenty of big audiences for Week 27 amongst the three commercial networks, but it was Packed to the Rafters that finished at #1, with 1.91m viewers. This is despite the 2.01m audience for Wednesday’s episode of Masterchef, which drops due to averaging of Monday – Thursday episodes. Underbelly‘s finale was also impressive with 1.8m viewers. Dancing with the Stars settled for 1.42m. Significantly, all four are local productions. Aside from Modern Family it was an all-Australian top ten last week.
The Seven Network won Week 27 with 28.0% over Nine’s 25.8% and TEN’s 22.4%. The ABC had 18.0% and SBS 5.7%.
In primary channels Seven was 24.9%, Nine 22.3%, TEN 21.1%, ABC1 15.8%, SBS ONE 5.1%.
In digital channels GO! was 3.5%, 7TWO 3.1%, ABC2 1.8%, ONE 1.3%, SBS TWO 0.6% and ABC3 0.5%.
But the key demos fell elsewhere last week with TEN Network first in 16-39, and the Nine Network first in 18-49 and 25-54.
Seven ranked first on four nights, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Nine won Sunday, Monday and Thursday. TEN beat Nine on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The ABC was second on Saturday.
Seven was victorious in all cities except Brisbane which fell to Nine by a margin of just 0.1%.
