The question of the assembly attack sentenced Afzal Guru's mercy plea has been a following football between the Delhi Government and the Deputy administrator (LG).

The Sheila Dikshit administration sent the file on Mr Guru compassion plea to Delhi LG Tejinder Khanna Wednesday, agrees with the Supreme Court in the death verdict for Mr Guru. This means that the Sheila Dikshit government has left it to the center to determine if it wants to continue with Mr Guru driving. The Delhi government has also separately transported to the Union Home Ministry, Mr Guru's file is under "active treatment" in response to 16 reminder of the center of the case.

Smooth as politically sensitive issues was far from strong-willed, the Congress and BJP reiterated its position on the material. Delhi BJP criticized the administration for Dilly-dallying on the field and held a protest gathering in the capital. Congress, for its part, said that the case was "outside its capability".

Mr. Guru received the death verdict by a court of Delhi, December 18, 2002, after being found guilty of conspiracy to attack legislative body on 13 December 2001. The death sentence was uphold by the Delhi High Court 29 October, 2003, and his appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court two years later on 4 August 2005.

After this, Mr Guru's wife filed a mercy petition to President of India, who sent it to the Union home department for his comments. The case was then sent to the Delhi management for their commentary.
