Suicide attack kills two in Pakistan's Swat

A suicide bomber blew her up at the entry to a busy market in the largest city in northwestern Pakistan Swat district Sunday, killing two people and injured 10 others, police said.

Thurs bombers tried to open the attack in Mingora, but police said security forces shot and killed previous to he could detonate his explosives.

"It was a suicide attack," Qazi Jamil, chief of police in the northwestern region of Malakand belonging to Swat, said.

One was shot while the other exploded himself. Altogether 10 people were upset and two killed. Among the injured, three are dangerous, "he said.

Police said a gun battle also took place before the suicide attacks.

"We under arrest three militants from a car in the morning, other militant hiding anywhere in the market began firing on security forces wounded two paramilitary personnel," said Jamil, adding that the soldiers returned fire and arrested another militant injured in the firefight.

Troops launched a search after the shooting and tried to arrest two possible suicide bomber in the nearby market, but one managed to detonate his suicide vest after his friend was shot and killed by soldiers.

Eight shops were also seriously injured by the explosion, he added. Ghulam Farooq, Mingora police chief, long-established the death.
