Yasin Malik observes hunger strike in protest against fake encounter in Kashmir

Chief of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Yasin Malik noted a daylong hunger strike at Nadihal village in the Kashmir Valley Thursday as a mark of protest against the fake encounters in which the Indian army is supposed to have killed three innocent civilians.

"The reason of this hunger strike was to highlight this issue for the world to realize the scenario in Kashmir valley," said Malik.

"It's just a message to this hunger strike, which is for the group of people and the rights of workers in these communities. We hope that the team of Amnesty International, recently visited to discuss the matter with the Indian government on priority basis and will also discuss the matter with the embassies and even the people in civil society will take care of this matter, and the people who work for human rights will also discuss this issue with help from the Ministry of Defence on SOS basis, he added.

The Jammu and Kashmir police have lodged a case of kidnap and murder against the two guards to a meeting where three people were killed on 30 April.

Security forces had claimed they had killed three infiltrators and recovered five AK47 rifles, bullets and Pakistani currency from them Machali sector.

According to reports, took the Jammu and Kashmir police that the men were killed by security forces actually were guiltless civilians who were reported missing from a village in Bara District Mullah.
