Sensex slips over 332 pts in opening trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange standard Sensex fell on the day 332 points in breach trade on strong sales of funds in the middle concerns about the euro area debt disaster.

The 30-share index, which had 111.19 points in preceding session, shed 332.65 points to 16,187.03 in the first five minutes of buy and sell.

All sectors, indices, led by realty and metal was trade in negative zone with losses of up to 3.20 percent.

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex today tanked over 231 points in opening trade as funds sold heavily in line with the meltdown in overseas markets.

The 30-share index, which gained 40.20 points in yesterday's volatile session, slumped 231.11 points, or 1.36 per cent at 16,644.65 points.

Sensex slips below 17500 on Greece concerns

Indexes slipped into the red in line with other global peers after normal & Poor's cut Greece's credit rating to junk and sunk Portugal two fixed points. Furthermore, with F & O expiry due Thursday, is the instability is expected to be high. (View)

For 9:10 am, the Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex 17,493.72, down 196.90 points or 1.11 percent. The index hit a low of 17,461.35 and high of 17,643.59 in trade so far.

Indiabulls Securities net profit at Rs 67.47 cr

Household brokerage firm India Bulls Securities Monday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 67.47 crore for the year broken 31 March 2010.

The corporation had a net loss of Rs 13 crore in the preceding fiscal year, India Bulls Securities said in a program on the B S E.

Total revenues in the company fell to Rs 352.24 crore for the year ended 31 March from Rs 396.19 crore in the same period preceding fiscal.
