BALTIMORE - Duke Men’s lacrosse program knows what it means to come up short when playing for a cause that extends far further than the playing field. Virginia suffered a similar fate Saturday night at the hands of Duke, a Blue Devils team that could not be happier to play for a cause that is all about antagonism. Notre Dame Coach Kevin Corrigan has some serious ties with Duke, leading him to joke that he had cut them off ties with the Fighting Irish are preparing to face the Blue Devils to the NCAA title today (3:30 p.m., ESPN).
