UN condemns Israel for attack on aid convoy

"Whatever the truth about what happened, where the full examination called by the Secretary-General should establish quickly if such an incident never happened, or as needed to happen," the announcement said.

Just hours before the UN Security Council met behind closed doors to discuss the deadly attack at the request of Arab countries. The emergency meeting, called for the Arab countries after Israel carried out the attack, was to prepare a Council response. Lebanon is currently leading the 15-nation body.

Israeli Navy, backed by helicopters attacked early Monday morning, Gaza-bound aid flotilla in the Mediterranean in international waters with live bullets and gas bombs, which over 10 activists on board were killed and over 30 wounded.
