No match-fixing in IPL: Niranjan Shah

Niranjan Shah

Rubbishing allegations of cricketers are highly vulnerable to dishonesty, "said the Indian Premier League (IPL) Vice Niranjan Shah in the IPL was fool proof from the match-fixing.

Shah's denial came a day after the former Australian wicket keeper Adam Gilchrist revealed in an interview that the IPL players regularly discussed the looming threat of "match fixing" in the game. Gilchrist claimed that the players were "easy targets" for match-fixing in IPL.

Shah told reporters: "I feel that some players have the habit to comment on anything, even if the issue is not their field. The only comment to comment, without thinking what they say."

Highlighting IPL's strict mechanisms and the Indian cricket board measures to curb match-fixing Shah claimed that there was no substance Gilchrist said.

"I think this comment has no purpose, as recent ICC anti-corruption chief Paul Condon gave clean Chit to IPL third, we prefer, and appointed the ICC's anti-corruption team now and in the upcoming season, we will appoint them again. Indian board has Zero tolerance for match-fixing. Our commitment is to keep IPL corruption free and I do not understand what Gilchrist is meant by his statement, he said.
