Kellogg's Recalls 28 Million Boxes of Cereal

Kellogg's Recalls 28 Million Boxes of Cereal
The Kellogg Company announced a voluntary recall of an estimated 28 million boxes of cereal Friday, after discovering that certain package liners were giving the food inside a "waxy" smell and flavors.
Packages of Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Fruit Loops and Honey Smacks with the letters "KN" printed before the "Better if Used Before" dates are subjected to recall and arrived in the U.S. in late March. No other types of Kellogg's products are subject to the recall and only cereals in the U.S..

Though the company stated that the potential for the liners to create serious health problems for its consumers is low, there is a potential for customers to get sick.

"While the potential for serious health problems is low, some consumers are sensitive to the uncharacteristic off-flavor and smell and should not eat the recalled products because of possible temporary symptoms, including nausea and diarrhea," said a Kellogg's statement.
