Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan plan to have two kids

Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan may not take well-wisher Salman Khan’s advice that they make a football team of kids, but the couple do plan to have an ideal Indian family of two kids, a daughter and a son.

Like father, like son! Excuse the cliché but that’s certainly true in the case of Abhishek Bachchan. Like his father Amitabh Bachchan who had a daughter (Shweta Bachchan) first and a then a son, Abhishek too wants a daughter first and a son later.

He first expressed his desire for a daughter on his twitter page, and now he has reiterated it in an interview.

Abhishek has candidly revealed that he and Ash plan on having two kids. This is not the first time he has done that.

In August 2009, he had revealed his desire for a Hum Do Humare Do family.

Abhishek also says that it was Aishwarya Rai’s idea to let pa Amitabh Bachchan break the news of her pregnancy to the world.

The announcement was made by Bachchan's father, who couldn't contain his enthusiasm in Tweeting:

Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai is in the family way, says her father-in-law and Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

“NEWS NEWS NEWS !! I AM GOING TO BECOME A GRANDFATHER .. AISHWARYA EXPECTING .. SO HAPPY AND THRILLED, (sic)” Amitabh posted on his Twitter account.

Ever since Amitabh posted the message on the microblogging site, congratulatory messages have started pouring in.

Aishwarya, 37, and Abhishek, 35, were married in 2007 and as soon as they tied the knot, the rumours of Aishwarya getting pregnant have been making the news. And finally she is expecting.

“Yes, it is true,” Ash’s spokesperson told IANS, confirming the news.

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, the expectant granddad and Abhishek’s father, spilled the beans on the microblogging site Twitter on Tuesday night to say his daughter-in-law Aishwarya is pregnant.

“NEWS NEWS NEWS !! I AM GOING TO BECOME A GRANDFATHER .. AISHWARYA EXPECTING .. SO HAPPY AND THRILLED !!!,” Bachchan Sr tweeted.

The baby will be the couple’s first child. Abhishek(35) and Aishwarya(37) tied the knot on April 20, 2007.

Aishwarya has not personally confirmed she is pregnant. But Archana Sadanand, the publicist for the former Miss World, said there is nothing more to add other than what Amitabh had said.
