Congress playing vote bank politics for Telangana: Gadkari

Nitin Gadkari

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Gadkari accused the Congress of indulging in vote bank politics to establish their influence in the Telangana region.

Addressing media persons here on Sunday, Gadkari said: "The Congress party has declared the decision. They create problems. If they do not want to do it, why they declare the decision? In fact, any thing done in Andhra Pradesh, it is only because of vote bank Politics in Congress. "

He said the BJP would support the bill for a separate state of Telangana if it was placed in Parliament.

The Srikrishna committee constituted by the state to study Telangana issue was a waste of time, he claimed.

"The Central Government has notified first and later postponed the launch in December 2009 to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh, he said.

Talking about other courses, Gadkari said he was happy that Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had admitted that Afzal Guru file was pushed under political pressure.

"I think she (Sheila Dikshit) is telling the truth. The BJP party has accused the Congress party over and over again that the word" secular "means an appeasement of terrorism.

Efforts to draw Afzal Guru's file under the political pressure is an appeasement of terrorists.Guilt we put on the Congress Party and Sheila Dikshit has agreed to it and I respect her for it, "said Gadkari.

The matter was further compounded by the controversial opinions Dikshit a few days ago, when she denied that the Home Ministry had sent her a letter about the case.
